Just purchased .357 mag Little Sharps. Does anyone know if the rifle can safely chamber and fire .38 special as well as .357 My guess would be no, but I'm looking for an authoritative answer.

I'm not an expert on the Little Sharps rifle, but any firearm that I have had whether it by rifle or pistol in .357 will fire 38spl with no problems.
They only difference in dimenson is length of cartridge.

Welcome John2732 to CD. Not an authority-but just a question. Your concern is that the 38 Special, being 1/8" shorter, shouldn't be used in a rifle chambered for 357mag? Obviously a pistol, having straight chambers, can shoot both. Probably a CD rep(MR K?) would have to answer that. Steelie jumped in first, again.

Both the .38 special and the .357 mag head space on the rim. In most guns it is safe, like the Lever and pump action rifles and revolvers. If you have the owner manual see what it saids. Or you can all Customers service at 866-325-9782 and ask them.

Now there's a concept."When in doubt, read the manual", hopefully there's something in there that addresses that.

I appreciate the responses....for what it's worth, manual says nothing. Apparently the same manual for all calibers - nothing specific to .357

.38 Special loads will all work in your Little Sharps chambered for .357 mag.

Thanks for all the responses. Planing some range time this week and needed to know what to put in my range bag. Glad to here from THE authority (Mr. Kassnar). Anxious to try out this Little Sharps with both .38 Spec and .357.

I have the 357 mag little sharps. It does shoot the 38 special. I am a cowgirl action shooter and I shoot the 38 special. It handles then very nicely. They are a lot of fun to shoot and get good attention when I take it out to shoot. ;)

I have been having a lot of trouble signing in. The shoots are over for the year. I have some group posse pics. I use 1 shotgun. A winchester 97 pump. A lever action rifle 2 pistols. Ruger blackhawk. 38 special caliber. The last shoot of the year I used the little sharps on a stage. It was so much fun. The chambers are a good snug fit. I had a reload that the cartridge was a little buldge at the end and it would not fit. Used it in my lever rifle. also any high primers will not cycle through. a few week ago Husband and I were at the range practicing and I did an Annie oakley. sat a steel plate out 12 yards. Used my Marlin lever rifle and fired a few rounds at it. Missed the first 2 but the next 3 were right on. Next time will try with little sharps. :)

Like what kind of troubles? Technical problems, or password related?

The famous shot was she sat a baloon up at about 15 yards. Held her Over her shoulder backwards. her back to the target. Used a mirror to line up the sites. The fire and break the baloon. :) The trouble I was having with the web site is I would log in and go to a page. I would log in again and get kicked out as no registered. Seems to be working ok now.

I knew it had to be something more complicated than just shooting a plate at 15 yards. Thanks. Yeah I do that all the time with my eyes closed.:fullofcrap:

The famous shot is she would place a baloon at about 15 yards away. Stand with her back to the target, rifle over the shoulder. line up the sites with a mirror. Break the baloon. :) The web trouble was i would sign in and go to a page and it would ask me to log in again. Then it would not reconize me and ask to register. it is working ok today.

I have a question about the sights on the little Sharps.
I don't realy like tang sights and so is it possible to add regular rifle sights to the barrel where it is tapped for scope mounts?
I am looking really hard at this gun. I just haven't taken the plunge yet. I do wish I could see one in person. I don't know of anyone in the D/FW are that has them in stock.
