It's been my experience that when Jeff Quinn actually likes a product he'll say "I highly recommend ... " in the last, or second to last, paragraph.

I've found some great information on that website. I enjoy straight-forward, no B.S. evaluations and so far Jeff & Co. seem to be right on track.

I disagree. He rarely if ever says anything bad about any gun. He gets to keep each one that he reviews and will never disparage the piece. I also do not like the fact that he gives you 5 paragraphs of background before getting to the "meat" of the review.

FWIW, the issue of what you keep and what you don't after a review is hotly contested.

I personally prefer to send everything back, or purchase it outright at the end of the review. I have a collection of slings right now for review that totals maybe $75, and they'll all be going back unless I decide I really can't live without one and buy it from the vendor.

Good point. I guess I lean along with Jeff that I also rarely find a gun I don't like. I probably wasn't perceptive to the point that he never criticizes.

I do however, have one gun that I have owned for 14 years and still cannot shoot worth a crap. As a matter of fact, I think I'll start a new thread (rant) on this subject.

And he did. :D

As for reviews, I have shot lot of guns through the years, and could have gave somewhat favorable reviews. Even the ones I didn't care for personally, had some redeeming factor that made it appealing to me in the first place.

The part I don't like about reviews, is that they are on firearms that the reviewer WANTS to review. So starting off, they are somewhat biased before they even get the firearm.

To be fair, a professional reviewer should let his/her target audience pick the weapon to be reviewed, not the reviewers choice. I think then they may be more fair in their judgement.

Just my .02 cents worth.

I have seen conversations on other forums in which his reviews are basically dismissed. He should just say "I got a free gun! Thanks XYZ LLC!"
