I recently purchased a 2000 model CD 1911. According to the CD website anything prior to 2002 was only 98% interchangable. I wrote and asked what parts were not interchangeable, they replied the dovetail had a different cut and the grip screws were metric. Would love to have the specs on this dovetail (standard blade type rear sight unit) and/or these metric screws. Need this info to decide what I can and cant replace/add on. Thanks in advance for any help.

To be more specific. Would the grip screws work with any standard colt/kimber/springfield type grips?
What type rear sight can I mount with this different dovetail cut?
Thanks in advance.

Dmon1911, We will have the dovetail dimensions for you tomorrow.
The grip screw bushings are what is out of spec. If you replace the bushings with a Colt/Kimber/Springfield/Current Daly bushing, then all current grip screws will fit.

I had to do this to my CD EMS 1911. You should be able to replace the bushins and screws for about 10-15 dollars.

The information is greatly appreciated. I will be changing the grip bushings and screws shortly. I don't have anything against the metric stuff, I just would prefer to standardize the parts so I can maintain and upgrade the weapon easier.

Not wanting to seem like a pest here but I would still like to have those Rear sight dovetail dimensions. Even knowing if that dovetail cut has a name would be very helpful (i.e. bo-mar,novak,ect). Thanks.

I need until Monday to get you the older (FS) dovetail dimensions. The ones in the link provided by The Guinea are for the more recent Enhanced model (EFS).
