Hello all, new here and new to shotguns in general. I received my own Diamond III shotgun a week ago and have put over 500 rounds through it already.

I have a couple of questions about this shotgun for owners, or even for the people from K.B.I. Firstly, what's up with these shotguns? How is it that CDNN has these things for such low prices? Did these things simply not sell? The reason I ask is because they are so nicely made that I have trouble believing that they did not sell, unless it was simply because people were hesitant to spend that much on a shotgun from a company known for "budget" firearms.

I looked around a bit before I purchased, and even some after I got my shotgun. Just this afternoon I looked at CZ Redhead Deluxe which was selling for $900.00, and it did not compare at all well to my Diamond III, in any area, fit, finish, wood quality, engraving... not one thing was close to the equal of the CD shotgun. I also compared it to Stoegers, Tri Star and the Mossberg Silver Reserve, and none of these shotguns could hold a candle to the Diamond III. On a whim, I also compared it to a $1400.00 Citori this afternoon, and while the fit, overall finish and materials on the Citori were every bit as good as the Diamond III, the engraving on the CD shotgun was much nicer, and were I to choose one without knowing the manufacturer, I would have picked the CD hands down.

As it happens, I did NOT get my own Diamond III from CDNN, I got it from a dealer for a bit more than CDNN is selling for, because CDNN won't ship to CA anymore. Bad CDNN. If you would ship to CA, I'd buy another CD shotgun for my son. I like mine that much. I will actually be in the market for a new shotgun for my son in the not too distant future, and if I can find one locally, I will probably consider the CD youth semi auto, but not without seeing one first. I am not nearly as trusting of Turkish guns as I am of Italian ones, like the Diamond III.

It sounds like you know about quality shotguns. But the low price is causing you some concern? If it would help you sleep better at night, you could mail the price difference to MR K and then you would both be happy. Just kidding. Thanks for the good review.

less than it is worth, in fact, finding stuff like that is a speciality of mine and this CD shotgun is right at the top of my list for great values. If you don't mind, I'll just keep that money I saved and spend it on a new shotgun for my son someday soon. I was just wondering how they ended up at CDNN.

Hopefully when MR K swings by again, he can fill us in on the history.

I also have one of the CDNN sourced Diamond III's NRA's. HAnds down best deal for the money. Anyone interested here is the link to the American Rifleman review.
