I just bought a M4LE earlier this week, (haven't shot it yet,) but noticed some wobble between the upper and lower receiver, using a feeler gage. I can get a .011 gage between the receivers in front of the rear takedown pin.. Looking at my other AR, it's alot tighter, is this much wobble considered normal?? I know that some rifles will have more wobble than others,How about the rest of you? does yours have this much wobble?

Others will certainly comment, but we believe that much play between your upper and lower is not unusual. It will have no effect whatsoever on function or accuracy. It is inherent in the design of the AR style rifles and carbines.

On the other hand, if you have any function issues at all with your rifle, please let us know.

Sincerely,

1st let me welcome you to the CD forum and your excellent choice of an AR. You made me curious enough to dig out some feeler gages and I was barely able to force a .011 gage thru the same spot. That tells me that CD is very consistent in their machining and assembly(I bought my M4LE many months ago) and 2nd, that my LE shoots excellent. Many reviews on other forums(listed in this section) have given excellent reviews for fit, finish and shooting results. Like MR K stated-you just need to take it out and run some ammo thru it to find out.

My .011 gage was tight as well,Well, I'm not going to worry about it, I was just wondering because I've seen rifles that were pretty loose and others that were damned tight, there dose'nt seem to be a standard..Anyway, I've got to sell the "other" rifle to get money for a aimpoint, and a troy rear backup, and later on, other possible changes are Magpul stock, and a more effective flashider, and a magpul triggerguard (I really like those) I'vgot plenty of mags, and I reload, and have componets on hand, I can't wait to shoot this carbine, I like how it handles..
