I have a question about my new CD-Field Tactical 12ga. Shotgun?
I’m looking for a sling-stud adapter for the magazine-tubes 'end-cap' … do you offer them online anywhere as an accessory?

hi CDDM416,
well, to tell you the truth, I have not had the opportunity to get the shotgun on a range or in the field as of yet.
in fact, I just recently picked up this shotgun at a local Big5 a few weeks ago as it was on an advertised Sale Price of $214 less sales tax.
I too had been looking for another short barreled scatter gun to replace the sawed-off Remington 870 that I traded off to a friend a couple of years ago for an unaltered Winchester model 1200.
as far as the Pros vs. Cons is concerned; I have only positive things to say about the shotgun thus far … as I looked at (3) other major manufactures brands® while I was shopping around for the shotgun.
1. the fit and finish of this shotgun is hands down much cleaner than the others I looked at.
2. the weight of this model is extremely user friendly and would almost certainly be great for (3-Gun) matches.
3. the price for me was a no-brainer, as it was half the price of the others that I was shopping.
my primary reason for the purchase of this shotgun was for a backup piece while hunting for Black Bear; as I intend on slinging this unit over my back this coming season; as I’m hunting Bear this year with my 25wssm and 6.8spc depending on the terrain … i.e. open country or the river bottoms.
ETA: if I had to post any ‘Con(s)’ about the Field/Tactical … it would only be …
1. that the shotgun does not have the capability to have an optic mounted on top of the receiver or have a rear sight.
2. a rear sight or a ‘Ghost Ring sight would have been a real Bonus; especially being a tactical.
3. also the fact that it comes without the mounting attachments for the QD sling attachment.

as you can see from these (3) pic(s) the lines are very clean; and in addition, I really like the way that the slide/fwd-hardguard is flared at the aft/rear area as this should prove to be very beneficial for rapid fire.

From the pic the safety looks to be behind the trigger, like the Rem.. I like the Moss. saftey on the top of the reciever so you can keep your finger on/near trigger and thumb on saftey for quick off.I do like the slide on the CD ,the gun looks great. Tac. acc. would be nice.

does anyone know how thick the material is on the top of the Field/Tactical receiver?
the reason I’m asking is that I’d like to have mine drilled and tapped for either a rail or a (ghost-ring) sight aperture; and the Gunsmith that I spoke to this afternoon is clamming the it may? be to thin?
he claims that he needs it to be at least .050 to .060 in order to do the work.
thanks for any help … :)

hey thanks for the help CD ... I knew I could count on you for the answer
ETA: can you also provide me with a part number/ catalog number for a Ghost Ring (rear) sight?
and I took the shotgun apart this afternoon, and it’s plenty thick at the top of the receiver … IMO its got to be at least .10 or close to it.

hey CD, were you able to get any data information on the receivers thickness for me yet? and I sure could use the part number for the ghost ring sight too :)
and we’re going out to the range this weekend while we’re down south steelhead fishing … so I should get a chance to ops check the shotgun on some bowling pins.
