I have the officers feild grade model in .45 cal. with the hogue finger groove grips on it. I love this firearm! It shoots exellent. I compared it to my fathers Para ordanance and he coudn't believe how well it fit his hand and shot. He was even more shocked when I told him the price:eek: Now understandd that I bought it used (from a pawn shop) but it was in great condition.

His is ammo finicky and so far mine has shot everything I have stuffed in it with out a hickup.

Why, why, why did I ask. I knew what it would do to me, and it did.

I almost suffocated from drooling and gasping at the same time.

Very, very nice collection.

We are working on the image/linking issue now...

OK, we edited your post to display the image correctly.

What you did was link to the photobucket page that had the image on it as opposed to linking directly to the image itself. Our webmaster fixed it for you.

Sometimes, on here when I upload a pic that is too big, it resizes it for me. Sometimes I use www.photobucket.com to host my pics. You can resize them there. Very easy to use.

McQ68 not bad to shoot with a 2.5lbs trigger pull in 45acp That's a pretty light trigger. Have you shot for groups yet? How's the recoil in that polymer frame with the 45 cal? All my 45's are all steel.:)

Here is my EFS. Looking for grips. I like the look of these, but they are a bit thick. Funny how changing the angle of the gun to camera can make the slide look really short (when pointed away from the camera).

wataman? Your name wouldn't be Steve would it? I knew another guy on another forum that used a similar name tag.

When did you buy your M5? Mine doesn't have that fat aluminum mag plate thingy. I don't think I'd like that actually. How do you like it? I'd think it would make it that much more bulky to carry.

Here are some pics of my Bul M5. The slide , slide stop , and thumb safety has had a matte nickel plated finish applied to them. The gun runs great and digests any kind of ammo.

Nice looking M5 you have there. What's the accuracy like? Do you now if recoil is lighter/heavier than a standard 1911?

I find the felt recoil to be less on the M5, of course I do have the full size because it's the only way I like them. I think the weight of the Bull barrel makes the recoil nicer, that and the polymer might soak up some of the force. I find the M5 to be extremely comfortable to shoot all day long.

To my suprise the gun is very , very , accurate. Also to my suprise was that the recoil seemed to be less than a full size 1911, a lot less. I think the large grip has a lot to do with it which enables one to get a good tight hold on the gun. I have a RIA 45 Compact with a 3 1/2 inch barrel that kicks like a mule which shocked me because the gun is a lot heavier than the Bul M5. The gun also wears very comfortably in my CrossBreed IWB holster despite the fat grip. I just ordered one more mag since I noticed the price had dropped from the original $61.00 a piece to $ 45.00.

Thanks, I either shoot pictures of other people when I can get friends involved (almost all are MIL or LE), or I preset the focus, pace out how far I need to be, set the timer, then move into the frame and hope I got it all right.

Scoutie you keep talking about that fat grip but you really should closely compare the M5 to any other full size 1911. I think you'll be shocked to find out it really isn't fat and that is likely why you don't feel like your holding a fat brick in your hand. The M5 is only very slightly thicker then a standard 1911. i own both and have compared the 2 side by side.

Yes , I know. I own a Colt 70 that I bought back in the mid seventies and have shot it for many years. I also own three other 1911's made by RIA. I guess maybe I should have said it is just more square than fat. I did actually measure and compare the two and they are almost exactly the same. I had bought some thin grips for my RIA Compact and I really don't like them. They don't fill up your hand and provide a good solid grip like thicker grips do. I was skeptical at first about buying the M5 because it looks fat in appearance and I thought it might be difficult to manage. To my suprise it feels really good in the hand but differant than a regular 1911 even though they are almost the same.

I bought the trigger from Dillon Precision (the guys who make the reloaders).

As for voiding the warranty, yeah, it probably would, but call customer service before you do anything just to be sure.

Only thing I got for it is a Wilson Combat Mag

I am amazed how finger grips change the look and feel of these guns!

The gray/silver background and the gray/silver foreground are wreaking havoc with the camera's digital brain. The grips are black. A contrasting or neutral background will make them show up better. :D
