--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just had this li'l talk some time ago with my 13 year old and he was telling me about all the flack he was catching with me being a proud member of our armed forces and away so much:
Most of his friends say he is a Sexist for not liking Billery C and a racist for not liking Oboma? I told him to tell his friends they need to beg their parents to vote for Oboma (not that it looks like he will win) and then set back and watch the time line I have given him to tell them:
2009 Oboma takes office and starts pulling our troops out of Iraq, This will go very smoothly do to the fact that is what they are looking for; my son, his friends are 14 and is in 8th grade.
2010 all the troops are gone and Alquaeda in Iraq have started killing anyone who they do not like and/or helped us in this war, they are taking over Iraq; my son, his friends are 15 and in 9th grade.
2011 Alquaeda has a firm grip on Iraq and killed or made leave anyone not thinking the way they do, they are getting ready for us to invade them again and looking forward to it. My son, his friends are 16 and in 10th grade and still no draft in the US.
2012 Oboma is looking at running for reelection, things are starting to happen here in the good old us, nothing big to get Oboma to send troops back to Iraq yet but it is in the wend. My son, his friends are 17 and 11th grade.
2013 Oboma is still in the White house and things are getting really nasty here at home. Ali (Alquaeda In Iraq) have stepped up their attacks here in the US and Oboma announces a deployment of troops back to the Mid East, Ali is getting things ready for a warm welcome with an IED or EFP setting about every 10 ft that our troops will travel to get back to Baghdad. My son and his friends are 18 and in 12 grade. Still no US draft.
With his second term secured, he sends troops back into Iraq to stop the bombing and such here in the US but all are friends that we have fighting with us in Iraq now, are dead (with their families) or in exile. No one is there to meet us with open arms, everyone left hates us or will not help because of us cutting and running a second time on them.
The fighting is very intense and the D-day invasion is bumped down on the list of days that US has shed the most blood. Fighting like this goes on for weeks, hundreds are killed daily. Oboma has no option but to bring back the draft to fill the depleted ranks. So my son and his class mates can be the very first ones to get a draft card in the mail sense Vietnam.
So go on and vote for Oboma and when your son, girl or friends kids are sent off to fight a war we have all ready won, you can thump yourself on the back (we all know Libs are limber, the way they bend over to kiss everyones else's a$$) and be proud of the fact that you voted for sending your kids to war with your vote...

Sorry but this has been haunting me for some time and thought it would be good to get out here. By the Way, I would not be getting ready to go back if I thought it was a lost war.
God Bless our troops and do not forget the family that they leave, it is them that the troops look at to get the strength to drive on...

OK I am off my soap box...

All I know is, if he DOES get in the whitehouse, it will not be my fault. I know where my vote is going, and unless all my friends and family are lying to me, he won't get their vote either.

For all our soldiers sake, I pray they don't screw up when it does come time to pull out our troops, regardless of who is in office.

Hey 7th, do you have a date when you are going back?

Great post 7th!

If only we could get some influential people on the Left to read that. But they are so tripped out on Obama kool-aid that nothing we can say or do will convince them that Obama is not the next Messiah.

Every soldier I talk to seems to say the same thing about the war in Iraq, they had no idea we were losing until they came home, turned on the television, and watched the evening news.

And today, Mr. 2nd Coming tells the press corps that it doesn't matter what the commanders on the ground, or the Iraqi leadership has to say about US troop withdrawls. Mr. Messiah, after 3 years in the US Senate, knows better than them, after a one day visit to Afghanistan and a one day stop in Iraq.

Heaven help us from this false prophet. We are in for a very, very bad time if he becomes our next president.

I got in on the last few years of Clinton. When Clinton was in, for a shop of 20 guys we would be able to draw 3 rolls of TP and were told to make it last. Defacto forcing us purchase the basics out of pocket. A month after he was gone we got a case of TP in. Its amazing how something so simple could mean so much. Ever sense then i just cant get along with having a democrat running the military.

2013 you say? That leaves me with 5 more years till retirement.

If you all think this would add to some of the forms you all go to, fell free to post it, I have it up on a few sites and maby it is just the sites I go to, I am getting nothing but supporting comments about this. I Wish I could get this out to all the peace kreeps out there. The School supper from one in my county said he would like a copy of it to post on his schools site. I told him to go ahead but it is not going over as well as the ones I posted. He is new to this school system and I think there is going to be a lot of change...

7th: Thanks for your service, and for the post!!

Washington needs a good cleansing......

If for some unfortunate reason the false prophet gets in office, we are screwed. For several reasons!

Mr Kassner....I take it you listen to Shawn Hannady?.....'Obama kool-aid' is one of his favorite sayings :D:D

Great post 7th, and thank you for your service to our great country. I had not looked that far down the road, but the potential is very real. Your post should be plastered on the front page of every school newspaper in the country. Believe me kids have a huge influience on thier parents. We all know the main steam media would not allow such propaganda in their papers, but our children would certainly get out attention if they brought this piece home from school.

Reminds me of the Vietnam era-yes, I'm that old. Between the left wing press and the liberal politicians, the in-country military had no support. The commanders couldn't give orders, had to wait for those to come from DC, based on intel that was days old. And the "warm" welcome the returning(the ones that returned) troops got was extremely underwhelming. It's really sad to watch the same scenario again. Myself, being a 23 year retired AF veteran have the utmost respect for the troops that are stationed in the sandbox, including what their families and loved ones are going thru as they wait for their return. Just to allow that country to have some of the freedoms our forefathers fought for here, giving all of us the Bill of Rights, allowing any of us to protest anything we want, right or wrong. Sad, that many of those same people have long forgotten what it took to give them those rights.:(

McQ68: You are correct...it is kinda funny the ANTI-WAR protesters wouldn't be able to spout off their ideas if it had not been for earlier -US soldiers fighting in wars- to give them the ability/right to do so!

IMO, nobody in their right mind 'likes' war...but sometimes it becomes necessary to defend freedom, justice, and to preserve peace.

The -Life, Liberty, Etc.- company sells stickers and shirts with a 'Peace Symbol' on them....and in the outside ring it says "Peace Through Superior Firepower" :D

That quote used to hang proudly on the back wall of a building at the Loring AFB.

My father served in the Marines for years, during the Viet Nam war. Afterwards he transferred to the Army where he served until Bill Clinton got him to retire early. I don't know how many people remember the whole thing where you can retire early, but they didn't tell you you would not get your benefits until actual retirement age. Ok, that's why my dad left the military. The lied to, or tricked, him (and others) to take the deal to trim the military. My uncles served too, but in World War 2 and Korea. My brother in law and two friends served in the first Gulf War.

When WWII ended, it was after the US (then we were strong and had huge balls) had determined that the War needed to end. I know everyone loves to brag about their country, but the truth is painfully obvious to everyone but fools - WWII ended because the superpower got pissed, got in, and got to the enemies in time to stop them from making nukes. Japan had a larger navy, but we overcame. Britain had a huge navy and airforce, but they needed America to help. France was more interested in appeasing Hitler than actually defending itself. Russia had manpower, but was in no position to defeat Germany. Face it; no one was going to bring Hitler or Japan down but the US. The new kid on the block who stopped everything, reversed its economy into a giant war machine, and sent forces all over the world to defeat the tyrannies of evil men.

Then comes Korea, Nam... Several other battles. And when we left Nam, the terrorists took over and killed anyone who helped us. I have a neighbor who lost his family. He can tell you all about it.

We, the US, make mistakes of helping people who we know hate us, but for some reason we think we can trust them just enough to give them aid. We made this mistake in Afghanistan, with Osama, to keep Russia from moving in there. We should have left it to Russia, IMHO.

Having known people who served in the first gulf war and some of them almost not coming home, and people who served recently in Afghanistan and Iraq and who did not come home, I am left with a single thought about the USA and the world:

The US tries to defend countries and people all over the world from the evil of wicked leaders, all the time we are called horrible things and our people killed. Once friendly nations spit on us and cast dispersions on our flag. They speak il of our country, our people, our history. Our country is the youngest, but we once were the mightiest. We could accredit envy or jealousy, but we instead try to help. We send our youth into battle on foreign soil expecing them to come home, but knowing many will not. These are our offerings to the world, our sacrifices. Sacrifices we make so that people who hate us can be safe.

Well they can hate me because I was born an Amercian, because I have the will to say "no" to evil people and the gumption to take a stand. Because I will speak my mind and to hell with anyone who says I can't. Because I have the balls to step up and step in front of the weak and helpless and dare those who would prey on them to "try me". They can hate me because I am bold, brash, strong-willed, determined, fearsome to face in war, and a pleasure to have a beer with. And most of all, they can hate me because I am not the cowards they are.

I don't call upon God to bless me. He better help those who curse me because my enemies are going to need all the help they can get.
