Head Honcho,

Just wondering if the restricted states versions are still slated to be on the website this week? If so, can you narrow it down to a day?

I feel like a little kid the week before Christmas...

We intend to build two "restricted states" models, one is a "lightweight" carbine and one an A4 type rifle. Specs are as follows:

D-M4LT-RS Carbine

6-position telestock-pinned in open position
Chrome lined 14.5" 4150 (MIL-B-11595E, CrMoV Grade) barrel, A1 profile, 1:7 twist
Permanently attached Phantom: 5C1 Type (closed end)
M4 Feedramps
Oval Double Heat-Shield M4 forend
Forged “F” front sight base without bayonet lug, with rubber coated sling swivel
Milspec diameter receiver extension with “H” buffer

D-MCA4-RS Rifle

T-Marked Flattop Upper
A3 Detachable Carry Handle
A2 Buttstock
Chrome lined 20" 4150 CMV (MIL-B-11595E, CrMoV Grade) Government Profile barrel, 1:7 twist
M4 Feedramps
No Suppressor
A2 hand guards
Forged “F” front sight base without bayonet lug, with rubber coated sling swivel

We will probably add one Middy model shortly after our Middy's are introduced.

The above builds will be available in approximately 60 days. Prices will be set in just a few days.

Comments are welcome as all feedback, postitive or negative, is appreciated.

Would i be safe to assume that the A4 for non-restriced states would be the same specs just with the lug and A2 flash hider?

Yes, that would be a safe assumption! ;)

I have been wanting a 20" rifle for awhile now and with those specs it sounds like yours is what im looking for. How about doing a limited run of the A4's with a KAC M5 already installed?

HaHa! You are reading my mind! :D

I have a sample of a KAC M5 on the way to me for us to evaluate! They do not come cheap though... :(

Thats awsome! Here i thought i was trying to reach for the moon with a preinstalled M5. :)

No they are not cheap by any means.:( Im kinda hoping that a company would be able to get discounts due to a larger order and the savings gets passed on. But i have a feeling that the scale that Knights operates on, with their military contracts, that a limited run would have to be pretty big to show up on Knights radar.

We need about 5 more zeros on the quantity before they would be interested!

I will keep the members posted on what we come up with.

Do you have the prices?

What made you go with a 14.5" barrel with perm. attached phantom in lieu of a 16" barrel?

Try TROY or MI. Knight is reintroducing their SR15 civilian line. I doubt they`ll will undermine their own product line.

JB, won't be long now, probably by Wednesday, at the latest! (Did I promise that already?)

Seriously, we are in the "home stretch" with all the new build specs and therefore, pricing.

Will the D-M4LT-RS Carbine also have the detachable carry handle?

Do I get a 10% coupon if there is no price at midnight. :D
Just kidding...or am I.
No worries I still have to wait 45-60 days to buy it anyway.
I assume that it will be roughly the same as the LE model.
I'm not sure if I can name the place, however I found a place that is charging $917 including shipping for the LE model. That number gives me a very warm feeling inside...I would be thrilled to pay 10% more than that.

Yes, it will. And that decision was made only this morning! That's what I mean by right "down to the wire"! :)

Sorry again JB. I'm bogged down at the annual BATF Importer's Conference in Washington, D.C.

I did say Wednesday....I just was off by another week. ;)

JB,

Restricted States builds should have MSRP's of approximately:

D-M4LT-RS.......$1,269.00
D-MCA4-RS.......$1,229.00

I imagine the "real world" prices will be anywhere from 10% to 15% off of these prices. We never know where it will end up exactly, but I would venture to guess somewhere in that price range.

Remember that a D-M4LR has a MSRP of $1,239 (now with the A3 detachable carry handle) and the real world on them has been from $949 to $1,049 without the handle.

So, I think you will see these guns anywhere from $939 to $1,079.00 plus some freight charges, possible transfer fees, NICS fees and state and local taxes.

The formal price list with all the new builds has to be finsihed soon....

I hope this helps.

I've been gone for awhile...did I miss any updates about the restricted state's AR's?
I thought they would have been out by now.

I would hope that the dealer wasn't selling "illegal" guns in state. I would call him and ask.
