Question on PA 63 safety lever.

I took out my safety lever and noticed on the lever there is a small hole that goes through one side of the lever, what goes through that hole or should something be inside of it?

I think that hole is for the safety catch plunger to rest in when the safety lever in the fire position, so when the gun is fired the safety would not move.
